How to Add a Quick Edit Button in Blogger Posts

Day to Day internet changes its trends and so as your old Blogger posts, but you accomplish it when people pings you about it via email or social media method. If you want to edit your Blogger posts, then you have to follow some steps by going to the Blogger dashboard, search the posts from its by putting title in search bar and then edit it. This will take some of your time if you have 100 posts to edit, but you can save your time by attach a Quick Edit button link in each post page.  In this article, we will be teaching you how to add a Quick edit button in Blogger Posts.


The first step you need to do is to login into your Blogger account. Now from your Blogger Dashboard, go to Template >> Edit HTML. In the template , search for <b:includable id='comments' var='post'> tag and just below it paste the following line of code. (The following code will generate a quick edit button for blogger, if you want to can change the icon by replacing the following image URL http://img2.blogblog.com/img/icon18_edit_allbkg.gif with any other image URL)

After putting the above code correctly , Again go to search bar search for <data:post.body/> tag Now paste the following code just below the tag which will display a quick edit button at the end of your every posts. In short, the first code will generate a quick edit button and the second code would display it in your each posts. (Remember: There are 2 to 3 <data:post.body/> tag in every template, so be sure to add the code after each tag).

Note: If you are not able to find the <data:post.body/> tag, then paste the above code below  <div class='post-footer-line post-footer-line-1'> because each template has different dash of codes.

Congratulations: Once everything is done properly , save the template by clicking "Save Template" button. brilliant, you have successfully generate a quick edit button in blogger posts. Now check your website to see if everything is working correctly according to the  method.

How to Lock or Unlock Widgets in Blogger

Blogger is the greatest way to start your blogging and when you believe that you are getting sufficient visitors then you can purchase a .COM domain to start your blogging career.

You can introduce your blogging career as a full time blogger but if you are engaged in some other occupation then part time blogging is the best option.


When you create a blog on blogger then practically all the widgets are editable. You can simply edit and remove them from the blog but some widgets can’t be removed from the blog such as header widget.

So, is there any choice to remove the widgets from the blog?

Yes, you can  simply remove the widgets by unlocking them.

Now,

How to lock or unlock widgets in Blogger and WordPress?

We can simply lock or unlock widgets in blogger using this following steps.


Step-1:

Go to Blogger Website > Select Template Option


Step-2:

Now quickly take Backup of your Template before doing any changes in the blog.


Step-3:

Choose Layout option > clink on Header widget > you will see here the widget can be edited but can’t be removed.

Note down the widget id which requires to be unlocked.

Step-4:

Now just go to Template option and clink on Edit HTML button.

Step-5:

Choose Jump to Widget option and select Header1 widget. You will see here the widget is locked (the locked property is set to true).

Just modify locked property to false and click on Save Template button.

Step-6:

Now again go to Layout option > Click on Header widget > you will appear here the widget is unlocked. Now you can remove this widget very easily.

Note: The procedure is similar to lock the widget in blogger templates . Only locked property will be set to true.

Conclusion:

If the widget is locked in layout and  require to unlock, change the property to false.

If the widget is unlocked in layout and  require to lock, change the  property to true.

How to Add Facebook Like Box Widget to Blogger/WordPress

Facebook like box is mainly designed only for Facebook Pages that assist you to promote the page and it also allows your blog visitors to subscribe to your blog daily updates via their Facebook accounts.


When visitors like your page, they will get updates about your blog on their Facebook account.

To acquire the Facebook Like Box widget, first create your Facebook page then follow below steps to add Facebook Like Box widget to Blogger/WordPress.

How to get Facebook Like Box to Blogger/WordPress using Same Method?


Step-1:

Copy your Facebook Page URL by visiting your Facebook account.

Step-2:

Now, go to Facebook Developer website to generate Facebook Like Box Widget.

Step-3:

Paste URL into the Facebook Page URL field and Fill all the fields as per your need width, height & color scheme:

There are four more options are available to choose.

1) Show Friends’ faces: This will display the face of people whoever liked your Facebook page.

2) Show Header: This will display you header of your Facebook page.

3) Show Posts: This will display posts of your blog.

4) Show Border: This will generate a border around the widget.

Select the options according to your need otherwise Choose the option as shown in following snapshot.

Step-4:

Once you are pleased with all the insert of the Like Box, clink on the “Get Code” button.

Step-5:

As you clink on “Get Code” button, you will be get the two codes with title of HTML 5, XFBML and IFRAME option.

If you want to put it to Blogger then only iframe code is needed.

Just copy the iframe code and place it  wherever you want the plugin to perform on your blogger page. (mention in Step-8)
This same method required for both Blogger and WordPress, follow below steps.

Step-6:

Copy both the code in Notepad.

Step-7:

Then visit to your Blogger Dashboard > Template > Click on Edit HTML button. Now paste the first code just below the <body> tag and clink on Save Template button as display in following snapshot.

Step-8:

Choose on Layout section > clink on the Add a Gadget link as display below.

Step-9:

Now choose HTML/JavaScript from the pop-up window and put the second code into the empty HTML box. Clink on Save button to add Facebook Like Box Widget to Blogger. Use this same steps for WordPress too.

How To Resolve Ora 01722 Error Message Invalid Number In Oracle

One of my companion asked me to resolve the oracle “ORA-01722: invalid number” error message. He was receiving this error message while making reports through an application from oracle 10g database.

I demonstrate him the solution of this oracle problem because I had also faced same type of problem few months ago. Before  i will describe you the solution of this problem, it is  needful to know about the problem.

Oracle Error:

ORA-01722: invalid number

Root Cause of Error:

You were trying again an again to execute a SQL statement that tried to convert a string to a number and it shows failed.

How to Fix Ora-01722: invalid number error message?

You have to use numeric fields or character fields that carry numeric data in arithmetic functions and expressions.

You need to examine for character strings used in the function or expression. I am presenting you one example that will guide you complete understanding about this error and how to resolve this issue.

Step-1:

Now Connect with Oracle Database.

C:\>sqlplus /nolog
SQL*Plus: Release 11.2.0.2.0 Production on Sun Jan 26 16:07:24 2014
Copyright (c) 1982, 2010, Oracle.  All rights reserved.
SQL> conn scott/tiger@xe
Connected.
Step-2:

Now just follow the steps and see the results:

SQL> select to_number('test') from dual;
select to_number('test') from dual
*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01722: invalid number

SQL> select * from dual where 'test'>100;
select * from dual where 'test'>100
*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01722: invalid number
Step-3:

Now focus at the below example. In this example one statement is implement correctly but another has an error because that’s not a number.

SQL> select to_number('1000.000') from dual;
TO_NUMBER('1000.000')
--------------------
1000

SQL> select to_number('1,000.000') from dual;
select to_number('1,000.000') from dual
*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01722: invalid number

How to Add Facebook Recommended Feed Box Widget

Facebook recommended feed box shows the most recommended Post of your blog or website. This is entirely unusual from the activity feed which shows only recent works on your website.

To acquire the Facebook Recommended Feed Box widget, first  make your Facebook page then follow below steps to add it to Blogger/WordPress.

How to add Facebook Recommended Feed Box to Blogger/WordPress?
Step-1:

First go to Facebook Developer website to make Facebook Recommended Box Widget.

Step-2:

Paste your site URL into the Domain field and forget all the fields as it is.

select the alternative according to your need otherwise choose the option as shown in following snapshot.

Step-3:

Once you are pleased with all the details of the Recommendations Feed Box, clink on the “Get Code” button.

Step-4:

As you clink on “Get Code” button, you will be get particular two codes with title of HTML 5, XFBML and IFRAME option.

If you need to add it to Blogger then only iframe code is needed.

Just copy the iframe code and put the code wherever you want the plugin to perform on your blogger page. (Refer directly to Step-7)

Use this method for both Blogger and WordPress, follow below steps.

Step-5:
